ReceiptRoller 1.4.1005 Release Notes
Release 1.4.1005 brings everything we have built since 1.4.996, and this time it is about getting found on Google Maps. Stores can now ask for a Google review on the receipt, so only customers who actually visited are asked, and see the effect on the Review growth page. We have also added new review alerts, answering unanswered reviews in one place, managing Google Business Profile for several stores together, sending store setting changes to Google automatically and keeping insights for the long term.

What's new
Ask for Google reviews on your receipts
The receipt a customer gets after paying can now show a button that opens your Google review form. Because only customers who actually bought something see it, your Google reviews grow naturally.
- It appears on digital receipts, receipts received in LINE and receipt emails — with "If you have a moment, we would love to hear what you thought on Google." and a "Write a Google review" button
- Turn it on in the store's Receipt design — the store needs to be linked to a Google location. Available on the Growth plan and above
- The same customer is asked at most once every 30 days — under Google's rules the wording cannot be changed, and you cannot offer anything in return or choose which customers are asked
- See the effect on the Review growth page — your review rate (new reviews per visit) before and after you started asking, with visits, requests shown, clicks, new reviews and average rating week by week
New review alerts by email and in the staff app
- One- and two-star reviews are sent within an hour; three stars and up come together at 9:00 each morning — so a low rating never goes unnoticed
- They go to the owner, operations managers and SNS managers — turn email and the staff app on or off for each Google connection
Work through unanswered reviews in one place
The more reviews you get, the harder it is to answer them one by one. Every store's unanswered reviews now sit on one page, so you can answer them in a row.
- "Unanswered reviews" lists them for all your stores — filter by stars, store and period, and sort by "Lowest stars first". Sending a reply keeps you on the page
- Create AI reply drafts for the reviews you select, all at once — drafts are never sent automatically. Read each one, then send it
- AI drafts are written in the review's language — an English review gets an English reply, a French one a French reply. They follow your brand voice, never use the customer's name, and are signed with the store name shown on Google
- Save reply templates — {store} and {name} are filled in when you reply. Templates are shared across the business account
One Google connection now manages all your stores
- Work with every location your Google account manages — until now, one connection meant one store. If the account has several, choose from the list when you connect
- Link each location to a ReceiptRoller store under "All locations" — linked stores can ask for reviews and send changes to Google. Switch between them with "Location" at the top of the page
- "Change several" applies the same change to several stores at once — holiday hours such as the New Year, the website, the description and Google posts. Store names, addresses, phone numbers and regular hours are not touched
Store setting changes now reach Google
No more updating your hours twice, once in ReceiptRoller and once on Google.
- Saving the Basic Information, Location, Contact & Links or Business Hours tab of the store edit page sends what you changed to Google — for stores linked to Google
- Only the fields you changed are sent, and blank fields are never sent — fixing one field will not rename your store on Google or erase its phone number
- The result appears above the tabs — if Google does not accept a change, you see why. You can turn this off for each store
Update holiday hours and photos from ReceiptRoller
- Set special hours for public holidays, the New Year, temporary closures and more — a run of consecutive days takes one line. Hours past midnight and more than one opening a day are now saved correctly too
- Add and remove photos on Google — choose a type such as exterior, interior or food when you add one
Insights are kept for the long term, and stores can be compared
- Switch between 7, 28, 90 and 365 days — with the change against the same number of days before
- The numbers are now saved every day — when you connect, we bring in about 18 months of history, so you can keep following trends Google itself no longer keeps
- "Compare locations" puts each store's numbers side by side
- Fixed: top search keywords were not shown — see the words people use to find you, month by month
Google Business Profile features by plan
- Starter plan and above — updating store details, replying to reviews and reply templates, insights, photos, Change several and new review alerts
- Growth plan and above — AI reply drafts, asking for reviews on receipts and Review growth
- Views for each post, which Google no longer provides, are no longer shown — they always showed 0. Check views for each post in Google Business Profile itself
Clearer pages for stores
- A new page on getting found on Google Maps (MEO) — it walks through the whole flow, from checkout to the review, your reply and checking the results, with pictures of each screen, and compares features with typical MEO tools and Google Business Profile itself — see Google Maps (MEO)
- The For stores page now groups features into checkout and receipts, repeat visits, reservations, store operations, and products, stock and orders
- Every page now says the store app is also available on iPhone — with App Store and Google Play buttons side by side
- The store app page now shows real screens filled with sample data
Other improvements and fixes
- Fixed: a Shopify connection could drop after a while without syncing — the connection is now kept alive automatically, and it says when you need to reconnect
- Receipts sent to LINE are safer — a receipt now goes only to the customer LINE confirms it is
- Opening "/stores" in a browser now takes you to the For stores page

Coming next
In upcoming updates we plan to look into tracking your rank on Google Maps (for each keyword, and from points around your store) and to open the review straight from a new review alert in the store app, among other things. If there is a feature you would like, tell us any time on the feature requests page.
