ReceiptRoller 1.4.937 Release Notes

ReceiptRoller 1.4.937 focuses on richer digital receipts and budgets in the household ledger. We've added Receipt design to the store page, and digital receipts now show the store's details, registration number and the consumption tax at each rate. In the browser and the LINE mini app, you can now set budgets by category and label, and your income, and use a monthly report and receipt search. We've also fixed Smaregi imports and revised which features each plan includes.

Budgets by category and label, and the display of receipt design and tax at each rate, will come to the iPhone and Android apps in an upcoming version. Most of the other fixes already apply without updating the app.

What's new in this release

Each store can now design its digital receipts

Add your logo, company name and "From the store" notices — notices can also list links to your website and social media
Choose what to show — decide, item by item, whether to show the address, phone number, staff member, receipt number and payment
Applies to email, LINE and QR code receipts — receipts already saved are not rewritten when you change the settings later

Digital receipts now show store details and tax at each rate

The receipt page opened from a QR code, the receipt email and receipts sent over LINE now carry the same information as a paper receipt (receipts saved before this release don't change). Receipts sent automatically to customers linked to the POS's customer records, which were missing the store name and items, now arrive with the same content as other receipts.

Address, phone number, payment method, staff member and registration number — the staff member is shown when the POS sends it, and the registration number is shown for invoice-registered stores when it is in the correct format
Consumption tax at each rate — shown as "10%対象 ¥11,990　内消費税 ¥1,090" (10% taxable ¥11,990, tax included ¥1,090), or as one total line when the POS sends no rate per item
Discounts, and the amount tendered and change, are shown too — the amount tendered and change appear on Smaregi cash sales imported from this release on

Improvements to QR code receipts and the POS terminal page

"メールで受け取る" (Receive by email) now delivers the receipt
The right receipt now arrives even when two stores have a sale with the same transaction number — this mainly affected stores connected to Smaregi, and receipts already saved don't change
The POS terminal detail page now shows the Register QR code and the five latest sales — today's sales are counted by the date in Japan time
Fixed printable QR code PDFs that wouldn't open — Japanese text now prints correctly too

Smaregi transaction data is now imported correctly

For stores connected to Smaregi, the following details are imported correctly for transactions received from this release on.

Payment method and receipt number — payment methods, which were all recorded as "Other", are now split into cash, credit card and so on, and the Smaregi receipt number is shown
Item amounts, the sale's consumption tax, and discounts — item amounts and other figures that were recorded as ¥0 are now recorded correctly
Earlier transactions are updated with "Re-import past transactions" on the POS terminal page — each run covers up to 31 days, overwrites existing transactions rather than duplicating them, and brings in any that are missing (receipts already sent to customers don't change)

Set budgets by category and label, and your income, in the household ledger

In the browser and the LINE mini app, the household ledger now also has a monthly report and receipt search.

Budgets by category and label, and your monthly income — set them on the Budget & income screen and see what's left and the month-end projection at a glance
Monthly report — see the month's spending, whether you kept to your budget, your income and how much you saved
Receipt search — find receipts from every month by store name, note, amount and more (item names are not searched)

Reworked store information editing, sign-in landing and store app access

The store information edit screen is now split into six tabs, and we've also reworked the screen you see after signing in to the browser version and what you can do in the store app.

Save store information one tab at a time — a mistake on one tab doesn't affect what you've entered on the others
Removed the "Country" field from Location — new stores, stores imported by CSV with a blank country, and stores whose Location tab is saved are registered as Japan
You now land on the screen you work in after signing in — in a store business account, owners and operations managers land on their store (or on the store list if they have several)
Store app access now follows your stores and your role — if you've stayed signed in since before this release, the new rules apply the next time you sign in again (within 30 days at most). A member who signed in to the store app from this release on can no longer work on the business account from the store app once they are removed from it

Improvements to customer management and bookings

Visit count, total spend and last visit date are recorded automatically — this applies to sales imported from this release on, for customers identified as members
Ranks go up automatically — customers move up when they meet the conditions set in Rank Management, and never move down automatically
The store where a customer made a purchase is added to the customer's stores automatically
When a booking is added from the admin screens, "Source" now defaults to "Phone" — "Web" is no longer an option, so phone and walk-in bookings aren't counted as web bookings

Plan features now match the plan comparison on the pricing page

Some features were available one plan lower than the plan comparison shows, so we've corrected them to match it.

Starter plan and above — coupon management, rank management, the Developer API (including connecting third-party apps)
Growth plan and above — SNS management, Wallet membership cards, native apps, retail media
Enterprise plan — order management, warehouse management

For owners and developers: app connections and the API

The rules for connecting third-party apps don't affect ReceiptRoller's own apps or the LINE mini app.

Only owners of business accounts on the Starter plan or above can connect apps — on the Basic plan or a free trial, apps that are already connected stop working too
The receipt retrieval API now includes tax at each rate and more — for receipts saved from this release on
The receipt save API can no longer change the store-side details of a receipt a store issued — receipts without a date can't be saved either
In the store API, confirming and processing orders now requires store.orders.write — customer purchase history returns up to 200 records per call

Other improvements and fixes

Fixed emails and the booking page coming out in English for Japanese stores
Fixed times showing nine hours early on some screens — household ledger months now also switch at midnight Japan time
Fixed LINE mini app screens sometimes freezing in LINE on Android
In Store bulk CSV registration, rows naming a store ID from another business account, or from a store you deleted, are no longer imported — a row with one of your own stores' IDs still updates that store, as before
Please complete a Square connection in the same browser you started it in — we've strengthened the checks on which store and data are being worked on, and normal use is not affected
