Monthly Report

monthly report budgeting budget AI

The monthly report sums up a month of money in and out on a single page. It shows how much you spent, whether you stayed within budget, what you spent most on, and an AI-written review of the month. The browser, the LINE mini app and the iOS / Android apps all show the same report.

Opening the monthly report

  • Browser — open your receipt list, choose "Budget report", then choose "See the {month} report" at the very top
  • LINE mini app — go to "Receipts & budget" (レシート・家計簿) → "Budget report" (家計簿レポート) and tap the "See the {month} report" link at the very top (○月のレポートを見る)

When you are viewing the current month, last month's report opens. When you are viewing a past month, that month's report opens. Use the arrows on either side of the report to move to other months.

What the report shows

  • Spending — the month's total, the number of receipts and the difference from last month
  • Budget — if you have set a budget, whether you stayed within it ("Within budget · {amount} left") or how far over you went
  • Income and savings — if you have set your income, what was left after spending ("Saved {amount}") and what share of your income that is
  • By category — amounts and each category's share of the total
  • Where you shopped most — the stores where you spent the most, and how many times you went
  • Review and "Tips for next month" — comments written by AI from the month's totals

About the AI comments

  • AI writes the comments from your receipt totals (amounts, categories, stores and so on). Receipt images are not used
  • The first time you open a month's report, it can take a few seconds to prepare
  • If you add or correct receipts for that month, the report is rebuilt the next time you open it
  • Treat the comments as a guide. The figures always match your receipt totals

Months without receipts

If there are no receipts for the month, the report says so and no report is created.
