Reviewing Your Spending (Changes and Trends)

To see the big picture of your spending, comparing against the past helps. ReceiptRoller shows your month-over-month and year-over-year trends automatically.

Viewing monthly trends

• On the "Review" tab, you can see your total spending for the past 12 months in a graph.
• You can view category-by-category trends on the same screen.
• Comparisons against last month and the same month last year are shown as numbers.

Viewing the yearly summary

• An "Annual summary" is created automatically at year-end.
• It gathers your spending ratio by category and your most-used stores and items.
• A comparison against the previous year is shown too.

Digging into why spending changed

When a particular category is up, tap it to see the relevant transactions in a period-over-period comparison. You can see at a glance where the increase came from—for example, "why dining out went up compared to last month."

Putting trends to use

Based on the trends, the AI offers suggestions like "reviewing this could save you about N yen a month." For details, see the AI suggestions section.
