What is Product Information Management (PIM)?
PIM (Product Information Management) is ReceiptRoller's centralized product information management feature. From product name, SKU, and JAN code to specifications, pricing, and images, you can register and manage all the product data your store operations need in one place.
What you can do with PIM
- Centrally manage basic product information, specifications, and pricing
- Manage variations (derived products) such as color and size
- Set different selling prices for each store
- Bulk import product data via CSV
- Keyword search and category filtering optimized for Japanese
- Sync product data with Square POS and Smaregi
Structure of product data
You can register the following information for each product.
- Basic information: Product name, SKU, JAN code, category, description, unit, brand, supplier
- Specifications: Model number, series, color, size, weight, capacity, material, standard, country of manufacture
- B2B / logistics information: Case quantity, minimum order quantity, lead time in days
- Compliance: HS code, storage conditions, certification information
- Pricing: Tax-excluded price, cost, tax rate, store-specific pricing
- Status: Active / Draft / Discontinued
Variation management
You can set variations such as color and size for a single product. Variation attribute names can be freely defined (e.g., "Color," "Size," "Material"), and each variation has its own SKU, price, and image.
Search and categories
Fields such as product name, SKU, JAN code, and brand are registered in an index optimized for Japanese using Azure AI Search. Hierarchical categories such as "Electronics | Computers | Laptops" are also supported, allowing you to filter by category and brand.
POS integration
If you are integrated with Square or Smaregi POS, you can run "Sync from Square" or "Sync from Smaregi" from the menu in the top right of the product management screen to bulk-import the POS product master. When re-syncing, information added on the ReceiptRoller side (cost, brand, supplier, etc.) is preserved.
For detailed field mapping, see Square Product Data Mapping / Smaregi Product Data Mapping.
