ReceiptRoller 1.4.1041 Release Notes

Release 1.4.1041 brings everything we have built since 1.4.1005. This time ReceiptRoller does much more with Square: you can sign in with Square, import your Square customers, and see when the Square connection drops and reconnect. We have also added drop-off jobs for repair, cleaning and similar work, a way for customers to get their booking link again, NFC check-ins recorded as NFC, a store app that follows each person's role at the store, and customer pages in four languages.

What's new

Track drop-off jobs from drop-off to collection

A new feature for stores that take things in from customers: repairs, cleaning, alterations and more. Open it from "Drop-off jobs" on the store's page.

  • A board with three columns, Received, In progress and Ready, shows where every job stands — each card has one button for the next step. On a phone the columns stack
  • Record the customer, the item, the work, the ready-by date, the price and notes when you take a job in — find the customer in your customer list, or just type their details. Past jobs for the same item can be brought back
  • Keep up to 20 before and after photos for each job
  • Marking a job ready emails the customer that it can be collected — in the customer's language, once per job
  • Store managers, shift leads and staff can all work on their own store's jobs

Sign in with Square

  • The sign-in page now has a "Sign in with Square" button — use your Square account to sign in to ReceiptRoller
  • If you already have an account with the same email address, you sign in to it first and then link Square — sharing an email address is never enough to get into someone else's account
  • Sellers who start from the Square App Marketplace are taken back to the Square connection after each setup step — no more hunting for the connect button after creating a business account or store. Your language is kept too

Import Square customers and link their purchases

  • "Import from Square" on the customer list brings your Square customers into ReceiptRoller — existing customers are matched by Square customer, then email, then phone, and you see how many were added, updated and skipped
  • Customers added or changed in Square are updated automatically
  • Square purchases by imported customers count toward their purchase history and visits

See when the Square connection drops

  • If ReceiptRoller is disconnected from inside Square, the terminal list now says "Disconnected" — until now, sales simply stopped arriving without any sign
  • Reconnect Square from the terminal's page — reconnecting brings back the same terminal, with its history intact
  • If a staff change cannot be sent to Square, the staff page says why

Customers can get their booking link again

  • At the bottom of the booking page, customers enter their email or phone number and the link to view or change their booking is sent again — no more calls to the store about a deleted confirmation email
  • The link goes only to the email address or LINE account used for the booking — the reply is the same whether or not a booking was found, so nobody can find out whether someone else has booked
  • It can also be opened from the booking section of the store site
  • Stores registered in another country or time zone now see, on the booking settings page, that bookings run on Japan time

Check-ins now tell NFC and QR apart

  • The check-in campaign page now has an "NFC URL" — copy it and write it to your NFC tag
  • Check-ins from an NFC tag are recorded as NFC — until now every check-in was recorded as QR. Check-ins through LINE are covered too

The store app follows each person's role

What people can do from the store app now follows their role in the business account and their role at each store: store manager, shift lead or staff.

  • Store roles build on each other: staff, then shift lead, then store manager — for example, adding and changing bookings is for shift leads and up, while editing customers and cancelling membership plans is for store managers and up
  • The app no longer shows stores a person is not placed at — people responsible for an area such as SNS or finance still handle that area for every store
  • The app can show only what a person can actually do — no more tapping a button only to be told you do not have permission (the apps are being updated one by one)
  • Business account settings, payments, Shopify, B2B clients and connected apps are now owner-only — matching the settings menu, which was already shown only to owners

Customer pages in four languages

  • The household budget, receipts received by QR code, and store sites now appear in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese and Thai
  • The store dashboard translation is finished — customer details, product sync notices and the remaining untranslated text

Customers, staff and SNS

  • The customer list is easier to use on a phone — fewer columns on small screens, no sideways scrolling, and pages of 100
  • Adding someone who is already on the staff list now warns you — if the name, email or phone number matches, add the store to the existing record or save them as a different person
  • Scheduled SNS posts are listed soonest first — and the tab counts are right
  • Fixed: LinkedIn posts were cut off when they contained certain symbols
  • Followers are now notified when a store publishes its own flyer

For developers and AI integrations

  • The MCP server can now read reservations, memberships and passes — ask your AI agent "What bookings do we have today?" or "How many visits are left on this customer's pass?". Read-only
  • The API can now edit the signed-in user's profile, create and manage posts, and read Google reviews and insights
  • New: GET /api/v1/me/permissions — returns what the signed-in user can do, for the business account as a whole and at each store. Apps should decide what to show from this list, not from role names
  • Webhooks are now signed with each webhook's own secret — with a new-sale event and test deliveries
  • The OpenAPI spec now matches the real responses — number types, authentication error responses, and the shape of the sales API responses

Other improvements and fixes

  • A new page for stores about the LINE mini app — see LINE mini app
  • Every page footer now links to the main pages for stores
  • Form buttons now consistently say "Save" — and the email change page explains what will happen
  • The legal notice now shows the registered address and the real date it was last updated
  • The ReceiptRoller logo now appears on each onboarding step
  • Notifications from the payment service are checked more strictly
  • Activity history (audit log) older than three years is now deleted automatically

Coming next

In upcoming updates we plan to work on showing only what each person can do in the store app, recording NFC check-ins in the store app, help articles for drop-off jobs, NFC check-ins and publishing flyers, and tracking your rank on Google Maps, among other things. If there is a feature you would like, tell us any time on the feature requests page.
