Coupon Effectiveness Analysis

Coupon Analysis Effectiveness Measurement Report

Coupon Effectiveness Analysis lets you review the usage results and cost-effectiveness of the coupons you've distributed. Using metrics such as usage count, total discount amount, and conversion rate, you can improve your next promotion initiatives.

Metrics you can review

  • Usage count (CurrentUses): The number of times a coupon has been used. Also shows the consumption rate against the maximum usage count (MaxUses)
  • Total discount amount: The total amount discounted through coupon application
  • Conversion rate (CVR): The percentage of customers shown the coupon who actually used it
  • Impact on average order value: A comparison of average order value with and without coupon use
  • Attributes of customers who used the coupon: Usage trends by region, age range, and membership rank

How to read the report

The coupon list screen shows at a glance the usage count and remaining allowance for each coupon.

  • Displayed in "current usage count / limit" format (shown as "∞" if there is no limit)
  • Coupons with a high usage rate have strong customer appeal → continue them next time
  • Coupons with a low usage rate may suffer from low awareness or a weak discount → reconsider your distribution method or discount value

Detailed report by coupon

Each coupon's detail screen lets you review usage activity over time.

  • Daily and weekly usage count graphs
  • Trends in time of day and day of week with high usage
  • Re-use status by repeat customers (when linked to membership rank)

Points for improvement

  • When the usage rate is low: Display the coupon code somewhere prominent, or promote it via email distribution
  • When usage spikes right before expiration: A strategy of setting a shorter validity period and distributing intensively can be effective
  • When the total discount amount exceeds expectations: Set a cap on usage count with MaxUses
