Targeting by What Was Bought
retail media
what was bought
keywords
digital receipt
When you enter keywords in "What was bought" under targeting, your ad is shown only on the digital receipts of customers who bought an item containing one of those keywords. Matching happens inside ReceiptRoller. We never tell advertisers which receipts matched.
Entering keywords
- You can enter up to 20 keywords, each up to 30 characters. Separate them with Japanese commas, commas or line breaks
- A receipt matches if an item name or category contains the keyword (partial match)
- Differences in upper and lower case, full-width and half-width characters, and hiragana and katakana are ignored. Kanji and kana are treated as different words (for example, "お茶" and "緑茶" are different)
Where these ads run
- What was bought is only known on digital receipts (web page and email) from stores connected to a POS. Include "Digital receipt" in your ad spaces
- "What was bought" conditions can't be used on signage, printed receipts or app slots
- Customers who have turned off ads based on their purchases don't see these ads, and you are not charged for them
How they appear in reports
Views of ads narrowed by what was bought are not included in the daily, hourly or per-store view counts. They are shown as "Purchase-matched views" for each completed week (Monday to Sunday). Numbers below 5 are not shown, so that customers can't be identified.
