B2B EC · Contract prices

Your wholesale price list, per customer

Contract prices per customer and group, as amounts or rates, prices that drop with quantity, minimum order quantities and ordering by the case, kept as a table and in CSV. Each customer sees only their own prices.

What it is

Contract prices & rates

A before-tax price per SKU, or a rate of the store price such as "65%". Give a customer or group a default rate and products missing from the price list follow it.

Prices by quantity

Tiers such as "10+ cases at ¥4,500". An order pays the price of the highest tier its quantity reaches.

Minimums and cases

A floor per product, and products that can only be ordered in whole cases, checked the same way in the cart, in order-by-SKU, in orders you enter, and at checkout.

How it works

  1. 1

    Build group price lists

Give a group such as standard wholesale a price list of SKU, price and from-quantity rows.

  2. 2

    Override the exceptions

Give a price list only to customers whose terms differ.

  3. 3

    Update in bulk with CSV

Export, edit in a spreadsheet, and review the changes before importing.

  4. 4

    Customers see their prices

Product pages show the contract price and tiers, and the cart reprices as the quantity changes.

Price list

Rows of SKU, price and from-quantity

One row is one price. Add another row for the same SKU with a higher from-quantity to give a bulk price.

  • Add a row to enter a price; clear its price to remove it
  • Enter "65%" instead of an amount for a rate
  • Paste from a spreadsheet with "Edit as text"
  • Products with a customer price do not use the group's

What the customer sees

The unit price visibly drops as the quantity rises

Product pages list the contract price and its tiers. The cart's unit price is the price for the current quantity.

  • Prices are shown before tax; tax is added at order
  • Prices are recalculated when the order is placed, and that is what is charged
  • Quantities below the minimum, or not in whole cases, are refused, with the reason

CSV

Hundreds of prices, in one file

Export and import every customer and group price in one file. Before importing, see the additions, changes, removals and errors in a list.

  • Rates and tiers in bulk with the rate and from-quantity columns
  • A row with no price and no rate removes that price
  • Prices the file does not mention are kept

What is different

The same product master as your shop

Price lists point at the SKUs in your product master (PIM). No second product list for wholesale, and rate prices follow when you change the shop price.

Always recalculated at order

Change the price list after a customer fills their cart, and the order is charged at the price when it is placed. An old price left on screen is never what is billed.

Wholesale prices for customers only

Even with products public, prices are shown to approved customers only.

How we designed it

What we built, what we left out, and why.

01

Amounts or rates

Some customers agree "this item costs this much", others "65% of list", so both go in. A rate applies to the store price, and fractions of a yen round down or to the nearest yen, as you choose.

02

A customer's prices replace the group's entirely

If group tiers and customer tiers mixed, nobody could explain which unit price applies.

03

One minimum-quantity rule everywhere

So an order the cart refuses cannot slip in another way, every route an order takes runs the same check.

Questions

Yes. Enter "65%" in the price list, or give a customer or group a default rate. Rates apply to the store price, and fractions of a yen round down or to the nearest yen, as you choose.

There is no limit. An order pays the price of the highest tier its quantity reaches.

Prices are set before tax, and tax is added at the product's rate when the order is placed.

Yes. Turn on "Take B2B EC orders by the case only" on the product, and customers can only order multiples of its case pack size. The quantity input steps by the case, and with a minimum order quantity as well, an order must reach the minimum and be whole cases.
