B2B EC · Customers

Bring customers in, and decide what they see

You decide who sees your prices and who can order. Two ways in, groups as templates, and a dedicated catalog per customer let you put your existing trade relationships on screen as they are.

What it is

Invitations & requests to trade

Invite customers by email, or approve requests to trade sent from your store page. Either way, you approve in the end.

Customer groups

Templates such as "standard wholesale" or "VIP resellers" for prices, catalogs and payment terms. Put a customer in a group and it applies.

Dedicated catalogs & visibility

Limit the categories and SKUs each customer sees. For the store as a whole, choose customers only or products public.

How it works

  1. 1

    Invite

Enter the customer's name and email and save; the invitation is emailed.

  2. 2

    They accept

The customer accepts with their own business account and adds their own staff.

  3. 3

    Set the terms

Choose the group, prices, monthly invoicing terms and dedicated catalog.

  4. 4

    They order

The customer orders at their own prices, from the products you show them.

Customers & requests

Every customer's status, in one list

Linked or still invited, and in which group. Requests to trade from your store page are approved from the same screen.

  • Resend the invitation to customers who have not accepted
  • Requests arrive with company name, contact person and details
  • Choose the group as you approve
  • Import and export customers and prices as CSV

Dedicated catalog

Show each customer only some products

With "selected categories and products only", a customer's store shows only products in the categories or with the SKUs you list.

  • Name a top-level category or a full category path
  • Add individual SKUs on top of categories
  • Each customer follows the group, sees the full catalog, or sees a selection

What is different

Your customers have business accounts too

Customers come in with their own ReceiptRoller business account, so they add their own staff and roles. You never hand out passwords.

Prices and ordering for approved customers only

Even with products public, prices, the cart and ordering are for approved, active customers only. Deactivate a customer and they can no longer order.

A wholesaler people can find

With products public, product pages appear in search engines, and the request to trade on your store page becomes the way new customers come in.

How we designed it

What we built, what we left out, and why.

01

Private by default

Keeping wholesale prices away from consumers and competitors is the main reason to run a closed B2B site. It goes public only when you choose.

02

Only two ways in

Invitations and requests to trade. You approve both, so nobody you do not know sees your prices.

03

Start with groups, override per customer

Entering prices one customer at a time does not last. Build templates as groups and override only the customers whose terms differ.
