Customer data when a customer merges accounts
Customers can merge two ReceiptRoller accounts — for example one from the LINE mini app and one from the web — into one. This article explains what happens to your store's customer data when they do, and how to join two records of the same customer.
Usually: the customer record carries over
If only one of the two accounts was linked to a customer record at your store, that record is linked to the merged account. There's nothing for you to do.
- Membership number, points, visit history and purchase history stay as they are
- Reservations, check-ins and survey answers belong to the merged account
- Push notifications reach the merged account
When the same customer has two customer records
This is when both accounts were already linked to customer records at your store. The record of the account the customer kept is used, and the other isn't joined automatically. Instead, the CRM page shows "pairs of customer records look like the same person."
- Select Review to open Possible duplicate customers
- Open a pair to see both records side by side — name, member number, points, passes, bookings and more. The record on the left stays; the one on the right moves into it
- To keep the right-hand record instead, select Keep the other one instead
- If they're the same person, select Join records. If not, select Different people — don't join
Owners, store managers and campaign managers can do this.
What joining does
- Points, stamps, visits and total spent are added together
- Passes, memberships and bookings move to the record you keep
- The joined record's member number keeps working at the register and on member cards, and finds the record you kept
- The joined record no longer appears in your customer list
If you joined by mistake
A join can be undone within 30 days. Contact us with the two records, and support will undo it.
- The joined record comes back with its own member number
- Points and stamps come back as far as the kept record still has them. Anything spent after the join counts as spent by the kept record
- Anything your store changed after the join stays as you set it
