Merging Accounts
If you started in the LINE mini app and later registered on the web, you may have two ReceiptRoller accounts. This article explains how to merge them into one and what happens when you do.
What merging does
- You choose one account to keep. Everything in the other account moves into it
- What moves: receipts, coupons, store memberships and points, community posts, budget and settings data, and sign-in methods
- The other account can no longer be used. The LINE, Google or other sign-in methods it had now open the account you keep
- We let both accounts know by email and LINE
- You can't undo a merge yourself. Within 30 days of merging, contact us and support may be able to separate the accounts again
First, confirm the other account is yours
So that nobody can merge an account that isn't theirs, the other account is confirmed in one of two ways:
- Enter a code sent to that account's email address
- Enter that account's password
If no account uses the email address you enter, no code is sent.
Merging in the LINE mini app
- Tap the gear at the top right of Home, open Profile settings, and tap "Merge another account"
- Enter the other account's email address and tap "Send a code". To use its password instead, tap "Use its password instead"
- Enter the code (or password) and tap "Next"
- Check "Account you keep" and "What moves", then tap "Merge accounts"
- When it's done, tap "Back to home". The mini app reopens on the account you kept
Merging in a browser
- Open "Account settings" from the avatar at the top right, and under "Merge accounts" choose "Merge another account"
- Confirm the other account with a code or its password, as in the mini app
- Check "Account you keep" and "What moves"
- Finally, enter the password of the account you are signed in to and choose "Merge accounts". An account without a password uses a code sent to its own email address instead
An account that signs in with LINE only, with no password and no email address, can't be merged in a browser. Merge it from the LINE mini app.
If you're asked "Merge it into one?"
When the same LINE has two accounts, the LINE mini app's Home and the browser's Account settings show "Another account made with the same LINE also has data. Merge it into one?" LINE already confirms both are yours, so no code or password for the other account is needed. Choose "See what would be merged" to check which account is kept and what moves. Seeing the message doesn't merge anything — it's your choice.
Which account to keep
- We suggest keeping the account you created yourself (for example, one registered with an email address), and it is selected first
- Choose "Keep the other one instead" to keep the other account
- Whichever you keep, both accounts' data and sign-in methods end up in one account
If both accounts have a membership at the same store
The kept account's membership stays as it is. The other account's membership at that store isn't combined with it, and its points don't move to the kept account. If this matters to you, ask the store.
If you can't merge
- The code doesn't arrive: it isn't sent if no account uses that address. Check your spam folder too
- Too many wrong passwords: confirmation is paused for a while. Wait, or use a code instead
- "That account has already been merged": it was already merged into another account
- The merge stopped: nothing moved so far is lost. Choose "Resume"
