ReceiptRoller 1.4.254 Release Notes
In this 1.4.254 release, built around the themes of "analysis store owners can use directly for business decisions" and "transparency and peace of mind in account management," which we've been developing since the previous 1.4.228 release, we're rolling out a major set of updates: a big upgrade to product-level sales analysis, account closure functionality, an operation history (audit log) screen, large-capacity support for SNS video uploads, and more.
The service is available here: https://receiptroller.io
What's new
Major upgrade to product-level sales analysis
In addition to per-store product analysis, we've added cross-store product analysis spanning every store under a business account, gross-profit and margin display based on cost data, profit-focused AI advice, and an AI-generated "This Period's Summary" written in natural language.
- All-store product-level sales analysis — From the "Product-Level Sales Analysis (All Stores)" button on the "Overall Report" screen, you can see sales, quantity, and store counts aggregated by product across every store under your business account in a single list. Each row can be expanded to show the per-store breakdown
- Gross profit and margin display — Once you set a cost in product management, the product-level sales analysis shows gross profit and margin columns plus a total gross-profit KPI card. Margins are color-coded green (high) / orange (medium) / red (low), making it easy to spot products with room for improvement at a glance
- Bulk cost setting (CSV) — From the menu on the product management screen, you can download a CSV template and bulk-update costs across multiple products at once. You can preview the matching results in a preview before confirming
- Profit-focused AI advice — Based on your cost data, the system automatically surfaces insights such as "products that sell well and are also highly profitable," "products with high sales volume but thin margins," "products that may be priced below cost," "key products with low margins within a category," and "products with room to raise prices"
- Cross-store insight cards — In the all-store view, new cards highlight cross-store patterns, such as "products that could sell elsewhere (Group A items sold at only 1-2 stores)" and "key products with notable differences in sell-through by store"
- "This Period's Summary" AI narrative — When you enable the OpenAI integration, a natural-language summary combining the various cards is displayed as a single paragraph at the top of the screen — a 3-second read plus suggested actions for the coming period
- Seamless navigation with product management — You can now jump directly from each row on the analysis screen to the edit screen in product management, and from each row in product management to sales analysis, with a single click. Products that exist only in your POS system can be registered directly into product management from the analysis screen
- 30-day sales widget on the product management page — The product edit screen now shows that product's sales, quantity, and number of stores it sold at over the last 30 days, right at the top of the page
Business accounts and user accounts can now be closed
For customers who are ending their use of the service, we've released a way to safely close a business account or a user account. The steps required before closing, and the scope of related data that gets deleted, are both clearly shown.
- Closing a business account — With owner privileges, you can fully close a business account. Related data — stores, products, customers, staff, transaction history, POS integrations, and more — is deleted in sequence
- Closing a user account — From My Page, you can close your own ReceiptRoller account. Received e-receipts, favorite stores, household ledger entries, registered notification devices, and more are all deleted at once
- Safeguards against accidental operations — If you still have business accounts where you're the owner, you'll need to close those first. A confirmation step requires you to type the target account's name on the closing screen
You can now check your operation history (audit log)
You can now review a record of key operations performed within the system, including logins, account changes, and results of automated processing. This is useful for investigating the cause of a problem, or for making automated processing more transparent about "when" and "what happened."
- Business account operation history — Open "Operation History" from the menu on the business account detail screen. Owners can review every operation within the account; members can review the operations they personally performed
- User operation history — From "Operation History" on My Page, you can review your own login/account changes and the results of automated processing
- What's recorded — Login success/failure/logout, business account creation and member invitation/acceptance/withdrawal/removal/closure, plan changes, SNS post publication (success/failure per platform), POS sync results, automatic generation of overnight batch sales snapshots and AI advice, and more
- Failure reason display — Failure causes such as "card declined" or "upload limit exceeded" are shown in plain language
SNS video uploads now support up to 2GB
Video uploads for SNS posts, previously limited to 50MB, now support up to 2GB. You can now post long-form HD 1080p video as well.
- Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WebM
- Uploads are sent in 8MB chunks. If part of the transfer fails, the system automatically retries up to 3 times
- Added a progress bar and a cancel button
- Video length and size limits on each SNS platform (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, etc.) still follow that platform's own policies
You can now sync product and staff masters from Smaregi
In addition to the automatic sync of Smaregi transaction data released in the previous 1.4.228, you can now also sync Smaregi's product master and staff information.
- Product master sync — Import Smaregi's product list into ReceiptRoller's product management. Prices, categories, and product codes carry over as well
- Staff master sync — Import Smaregi's staff information into ReceiptRoller's staff management
- Automatic linking of transactions and products — Synced products are automatically linked to Smaregi transactions, making product-level sales analysis available immediately
Plan and permission cleanup
We've reorganized which features and roles are available on each plan.
- Product management (PIM) now available on all plans — Product management features are now available on every plan, including the free trial
- Product Manager role opened up to Basic and above — The "Product Manager" role, previously limited to higher-tier plans, can now be assigned to members on any plan from Basic and up
Developer update — OAuth flow for native mobile apps
For native Android / iOS apps, we've released an OAuth flow that lets a single user access multiple business accounts across a single token. This is aimed at developers who want to implement a "switch business account" UI within their app.
- RequiresOrgConsent flag — When registering an app in the developer dashboard, turning off the "bind a token to one business account at consent time" checkbox switches consent to a flow that doesn't require selecting a business account
GET /api/v1/me/organizations— Released a new endpoint that returns the list of business accounts a user belongs to. Use this to build a business account switching UI in your app- OAuth scopes and existing APIs unchanged — Combined with the existing
?organizationId=switching pattern, a single access token can securely access multiple business accounts - Implementation guide — Published the Native Mobile App Guide
Admin and operations improvements
- Manual cancellation of plans — Added a button in the admin screen to cancel manually applied subscriptions
- Cross-account POS terminal list — Added a screen in the admin panel that lists POS terminals across all business accounts
- POS data update guidance on the product analysis screen — If a POS sync is stale, a banner now prompts you to re-sync with a note that "POS data may be out of date"
- Improved Square integration stability — Fixed an issue where Square receipt imports would fail if too much time had elapsed

What's next
In upcoming updates, we'll keep working on making operation history even easier to use (filtering by store manager permissions, aggregation by role/action, CSV export), the initial release of the native store manager app for Android / iOS, full rollout of push notifications from favorite stores, and improving the accuracy of AI suggestions tailored to store operations.
