Sales Analysis by Product

売上 商品 分析 ABC分析

Sales Analysis by Product aggregates sales, quantity, gross profit, and composition ratio for each product from POS transaction line items, and displays them alongside ABC analysis. You can switch periods, filter, and reorder to see your top-performing and lowest-contributing products at a glance.

Access

  • Per Store: /{culture}/organizations/{orgId}/stores/{storeId}/finance/products
  • All Stores (Cross-Store): /{culture}/organizations/{orgId}/finance/products

Open it from the "Sales Analysis by Product" button on the per-store report, or the "Sales Analysis by Product (All Stores)" button at the top of the all-stores report. Roles with access: SuperUser / StoreManager / FinanceManager.

Selecting a Period

Choose from the preset chips at the top of the screen (Today / Past 7 days / Past 30 days / This month / Last month / Past 90 days), or specify a start and end date directly. The selection is reflected in the URL, so it can be bookmarked or shared with your team.

Filtering and Sorting

  • Category: Narrow down to one from the dropdown
  • Product Name Search: Partial match (case-insensitive)
  • Sort: Choose by sales amount, quantity, or gross profit. When sorted by gross profit, products without cost data are listed last

KPI Cards

Aggregate totals are shown above the table. If cost data exists, "Total Gross Profit (Gross Margin %)" is shown next to "Total Sales."

  • Total Sales
  • Total Gross Profit / Gross Margin (when cost data is available)
  • Total Quantity Sold
  • Number of Product Types
  • Number of Stores Aggregated (all-stores version only)

AI Advice

Below the KPI cards, advice cards automatically generated from the data are displayed. Each card comes with a product name, figures, and a recommended action, and the type of cards shown varies depending on the target store, period, and whether cost data is available.

  • Trend-based (5 types): top products / sales concentration (Pareto) / products with high volume but low unit price / products with low contribution despite being carried (long tail) / category skew
  • Profit-based (5 types): shown when cost data is available. Products that sell well and are also highly profitable / products that sell well but have thin margins / products that may be priced below cost / top products with low profit margin within their category / products with room for a price increase
  • Cross-store (2 types, all-stores version only, triggered at 3+ stores): products that may sell well at other stores / top products with a large variance in sell-through between stores

When the OpenAI integration is enabled, a "This Period's Recap" that summarizes these into natural-language prose is shown above the section. It's cached for one hour and can be regenerated with the 🔄 button.

Reading the ABC Groups

Each row is tagged with an A/B/C badge. Rows are grouped by cumulative composition ratio of sales, so you can immediately see which products deserve priority attention.

  • A (red): Top products. A small number of hit products that make up to 70% of cumulative sales
  • B (orange): Mid-tier products. Cumulative 70–90%
  • C (gray): Low-contribution products. The long tail making up the remaining 10%

Table Columns

  • #: Rank, reflecting the current sort order
  • ABC: A/B/C group badge
  • Product Name / Category
  • Sales / Quantity
  • Gross Profit / Gross Margin: Shown only when cost data is available. Gross margin is color-coded: green at 50%+, orange at 20–50%, red below 20%. Rows where the cost coverage rate is below 50% show "—" with a tooltip noting "Cost data is incomplete" on hover
  • Store Count (all-stores version only): Number of stores that sold this product. Click to open a per-store breakdown modal showing sales, quantity, and composition ratio by store
  • Composition Ratio / Cumulative Composition Ratio: Based on sales
  • PIM: 📝 icon opens the product management edit screen; ➕ icon lets you newly register a POS-only product into product management (product name is filled in automatically)

Displaying Gross Profit

To display gross profit and gross margin, set a cost in product management.

  • Set cost per product: Product Management > Edit Product > "Cost (¥)" field
  • Bulk setup: open "Bulk Set Cost" from the menu at the top right of the product management screen, fill in the CSV template, and upload

Cost is snapshotted at the time of sale, so changing the cost later does not affect past gross margin figures. When integrated with Smaregi, matching uses productCode; otherwise, matching is automatic by product name.

Difference from the All-Stores Version

The all-stores version (/finance/products) aggregates across all stores under the business account.

  • A "Store Count" column is added, and clicking a row opens a per-store breakdown modal
  • Cross-store insights (candidates for rollout to other stores, variance between stores) are additionally shown
  • You can jump directly from the per-store breakdown modal to that store's analysis page for the same product

When POS Data Is Outdated

If more than half of the transactions have empty line-item records, a banner reading "POS data may be outdated" is shown above the table. You can re-sync via the "Sync at POS Terminal" link. This applies the same way for both Smaregi and Square.
