ReceiptRoller 1.4.228 Release Notes
This release, 1.4.228, continues the work we started in 1.4.193 around the theme "store owners can start using ReceiptRoller without getting lost, and quickly get what they need for daily operations". We've shipped a refreshed Smaregi POS integration, a completely overhauled sign-up and first-login experience, and AI agent posting to SNS, among many other updates.
You can start using the service here: https://receiptroller.io
What's new
A complete refresh of the Smaregi POS integration
For store owners using Smaregi, we've released a new integration that lets you log in to ReceiptRoller directly with your Smaregi account and connect your POS with a single click. Just install the app from the App Market and you're up and running — no fiddly setup required.
- Log in with Smaregi — We've added a "Log in with Smaregi" button to the login screen. If you already have a Smaregi account, there's no need to sign up separately for ReceiptRoller
- One-click POS connection — Once you authorize the integration in Smaregi, all that's left is choosing which store and terminal to connect on the ReceiptRoller side, and your POS setup is complete
- Per-store, per-terminal linking — POS terminals link directly to a specific terminal (register) on the Smaregi side, so transaction data stays separated even when you're running multiple registers
- Automatic transaction sync — When accounting happens in Smaregi, transaction data now arrives in ReceiptRoller automatically. A manual sync button is also available from the POS detail screen
- Automatic linking with customer data — Receipts issued via POS now automatically link to CRM customer records as well
A major overhaul of the sign-up and first-login experience
We redesigned the flow from "a store owner signs up" to "their first store is registered" so it can be completed in as few clicks as possible. The new flow gets you to your dashboard in 20 seconds to a minute.
- Log in with Google / Microsoft — We've added Google and Microsoft login buttons to the sign-up and login screens. Get started instantly from an account you already have, with no password to type
- A business account is created automatically at sign-up — When signing up through the store-facing flow, you land directly on your own business account's dashboard immediately after registering — no need to go through a blank business-account picker screen
- ConfirmPassword removed, replaced with a show-password icon — We reduced the password field from two entries down to one, and added a show-password icon so you can verify what you've typed. The "password and confirmation don't match" error is gone
- The store-owner journey now stays consistent — If you start sign-up from a "for stores" page, accidentally clicking a "Log in" link will still keep you in the store-owner context
- Smarter redirect after email confirmation — Clicking the link in a confirmation email now takes you straight to the dashboard that matches your use case, instead of the consumer screen
Link an external account from My Page
If you already signed up with an email address and password, you can now link a Google or Microsoft account to your existing ReceiptRoller account. From the "Linked Accounts" section on My Page, you can add or remove linked accounts at any time.
- Once linked, you can log in with one click via the Google or Microsoft button
- With both a password and an external account set up, you can keep logging in securely even if one method becomes unavailable
- A check runs before removing a linked account, so you can't accidentally remove your last remaining way to log in
Login state now survives server updates
We continuously update ReceiptRoller, but until now, the timing of an update could sometimes invalidate your login session and force you to log in again. This release improves that behavior so your login state now survives service updates, keeping your day-to-day work running smoothly.
Standardized on "business account" terminology
We've unified the term "organization" used within the service into "business account", a clearer term for our customers. This consistent wording now appears throughout sign-up, login, settings screens, various emails, and help articles.
AI agent posting to SNS (MCP write tools)
We've added SNS post creation, publishing, scheduling, and deletion write tools to the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server we released in 1.4.193. AI agents like Claude can now complete SNS posting entirely through natural language.
- Instagram / X / Facebook / TikTok / LINE / YouTube / Google Business Profile / LinkedIn / Pinterest — post via AI to any SNS channel already connected to ReceiptRoller
- From drafting copy to posting across multiple channels at once, scheduling, and taking posts down — all completed through conversation
- The required OAuth scope is
sns.content.write. It can be added with one click from the settings screen of any MCP-compatible AI client - Images can also be attached mid-conversation (just give the AI a URL and it will pull it in)
Expanded APIs for viewing customer and lottery data from external systems
Following the same "cross multiple business accounts" pattern we introduced for the sales APIs in 1.4.193, customer (CRM) data and lottery data are now supported as well. Even if a single owner runs multiple stores and multiple business accounts, one access token can now cross-reference all of them.
- The customer list, customer detail, and purchase history REST APIs can now switch targets via the
?organizationId=query parameter - The lottery list and lottery detail APIs support the same pattern
- Every call is validated against your business account membership, so it stays secure
Usability improvements to the admin screens
- Member role changes — Changing a role from the member list now reliably saves the change, and error messages now make the cause clear
- Refreshed list screens — Across the admin list screens, clicking anywhere on a row now takes you to its detail page, and the per-row "Edit"/"Stop" buttons have been consolidated into a cleaner look. You can also select multiple rows and "stop" them together
