How E-Receipts Work

e-receipt how it works getting started

An e-receipt is a digital receipt that reaches your ReceiptRoller directly from the store's register. Instead of taking a paper receipt, it's saved automatically to your history in the app or in LINE.

The flow up to receiving it

  • Show your ReceiptRoller code at the register.
  • The store's register reads the code and sends the purchase details.
  • Within a few seconds, the e-receipt arrives in your history.

How it differs from paper

  • It won't get lost. You can search and filter it later.
  • Items, amounts, tax classifications, and more are saved as structured data.
  • You can total it by category or by payment method.

What information links it to you

An e-receipt is linked to your account based on the code you showed at checkout. Your name and contact details are never handed to the store. When needed, data on your purchasing tendencies may be shared with the store in anonymized form. For details, please see the articles about privacy.

At stores that aren't supported

At stores that don't support ReceiptRoller, take the paper receipt and scan it later with the camera, and you can manage it together in the same history.
