RETAIL MEDIA — DEALS

Two ways to sell your ad space.

Open bidding, where ReceiptRoller sells widely for you, and private deals, where you sell directly to business partners. Use either one, or combine them.

Available on the Growth plan and above, with a 30-day free trial.

Compare the two deal types

Even for the same ad space, what each approach is best for depends on how you sell.

Open bidding (open deal)

Who buys

Any advertiser whose criteria match can bid.

How the price is set

Set by bidding. Bids below your minimum rate won't run.

Sales effort

None. ReceiptRoller sells to advertisers.

Slot guarantee

Not guaranteed. Ads run at times when there are bids.

Best for

When you want to earn from open slots without extra effort.

Private deal (direct deal)

Who buys

Manufacturers you work with and local businesses.

How the price is set

Your store and your partner agree on dates, slots and price.

Sales effort

You'll need to discuss terms with your partner. ReceiptRoller takes care of delivery, measurement and billing.

Slot guarantee

The agreed dates and slots are reserved for your partner. They can also be exclusive.

Best for

When you want to deliver a partner's promotion reliably over a set period.

Open bidding

Open up your slots, and advertisers come to you

ReceiptRoller sells the slots you open to outside ads. Your store doesn't need to look for advertisers.

Matching advertisers bid

Advertisers whose criteria, such as area and store type, match bid on the slots you open.

Highest bid runs first

Among the bids, the ads with the highest rates run first.

Protect slots with a minimum rate

Set a floor price (minimum rate) for each ad space. Bids below it won't run.

No selling required

ReceiptRoller does the selling. All your store does is review the ads that come in.

Your own promotions when there are no bids

When no bids come in, your own promotions run, so your screens are never empty.

Private deal

Sell slots directly to your business partners

Agree terms with manufacturers you work with or local businesses, and reserve the slots. Once terms are set, ReceiptRoller handles the rest.

Agree on dates, slots and price

Decide with your partner when the ad runs, on which ad space and at what price, and reserve the slots.

Can be exclusive

You can also sell it as an exclusive slot, running only that partner's ads during the period.

Delivery, measurement and billing handled for you

ReceiptRoller handles delivery, measuring results and billing your partner. Your store doesn't need to create invoices.

Invite your partners

Partners who don't use ReceiptRoller yet can be invited by your store.

How slots fill when you use both

Slots you open to outside ads fill in this order.

1

Private deals

Slots reserved by agreement with a partner fill first.

2

Open bidding

Remaining slots go to ads with bids above your minimum rate.

3

Your own promotions

Any slot not filled by either runs your own promotions.

Slots you keep for yourself and don't open to outside ads are always available for your own promotions. There's no extra cost to run your own promotions.

Floor price

How to set your minimum rate

The floor price (minimum rate) is the line below which you won't sell. You can set it for each ad space and time of day.

Set it per ad space

A screen by the register and an app slot get seen differently. Set a separate rate for each ad space.

Higher when it's busy

Busy hours reach more customers. We recommend setting higher rates for busy times and lower rates for quiet times.

Too high means your own promotions run

If your minimum rate is too high, bids are less likely to come in, and your own promotions run during that time. You can adjust it as you check your revenue reports.

Revenue paid every month

Whether through open bidding or private deals, you're paid the same way.

Revenue based on delivery

Revenue is finalized every month based on how often ads were delivered.

Paid with an itemized statement

Finalized revenue is paid every month with an itemized statement, traced down to which advertiser and which delivery it came from.

Check it in the dashboard

See impressions and revenue by ad space, advertiser and period in the dashboard.

The revenue share depends on the type of ad space and how it's sold. We'll explain the terms when you sign up.
