Setting selling rules

Retail Media Selling rules Floor price Review

In "Selling rules" you decide, for the whole business account, how much outside advertising you accept, when, and at what price. Open it from "Selling rules" at the top of the ad space screen. Anything you change on an individual ad space takes priority over these rules for that ad space.

Share and hours

  • Share for outside ads: the part you open to outside ads — of play time on signage, and of impressions on receipts and in the app. The default is 30%
  • Days and hours: when you accept outside ads. If you select nothing, all hours are included

Floor prices

You can set an amount per 1,000 impressions (before tax) for each type of ad space. Ads that bid below this rate do not run. Leave a field blank to set no floor.

How it's sold

  • Open bidding: advertisers who meet your conditions bid, and ReceiptRoller sells the slot
  • Private deals: you agree the period, slots and price with a partner and sell to them directly. If you turn this off, you cannot send new offers and deals you have already agreed are not delivered

Ads you refuse

You can choose which of 18 categories — such as food, alcohol, and finance and insurance — you do not accept. ReceiptRoller never accepts ads for tobacco, gambling, adult content and similar, whatever your settings.

Refused categories apply to open-bidding ads. Private deals are not affected by category settings, because you agree them directly with your partner. Blocked advertisers also cannot agree to private deal offers (deals already agreed continue as they are).

Review before ads run

  • Review every ad (default): only ads you approve are shown
  • Auto-approve trusted advertisers: campaigns from advertisers you have marked as trusted are approved without waiting for review

You mark advertisers as trusted or blocked one by one on the ad reviews screen.
