Setting Up an In-Store Ad Terminal

リテールメディア デジタルサイネージ 広告端末 広告スペース

To get started with retail media, set up a terminal in your store to display ads and register it in ReceiptRoller as an ad space. Configuring settings appropriate to the terminal type and placement lets ad delivery begin automatically.

Terminal Types

  • Digital Signage: A large display or monitor placed inside the store, typically near the entrance, in a walkway, or on a wall. High visibility, and can expect the most impressions.
  • Shelf Display: A small display placed at the edge of a product shelf. Well suited for showing ads tied to the products next to it.
  • POS Display: A terminal placed near the register. Ensures high visibility to customers waiting to pay. Terminals with touch panel support can also make use of cost-per-click (CPC) billing.

Registering an Ad Space

  1. Select "Retail Media" from the left menu of the store dashboard.
  2. Select "Ad Space."
  3. Click "Add New Space."
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Space Name: e.g. "Entrance Signage," "POS Monitor"
    • Type: Digital Signage / Shelf Display / POS Display
    • Placement: The specific location in the store (e.g. left of entrance, register 1)
    • Resolution: The terminal's screen resolution (e.g. 1920x1080)
    • Orientation: Landscape / Portrait
  5. Click "Save."

Once registration is complete, an ID is issued for the ad space. Entering this ID into the terminal-side app or configuration file establishes the connection with the ad server.

Checking the Terminal Connection

On the ad space detail screen, you can check the terminal's connection status. When properly connected, it shows as "Active."

Managing Multiple Terminals

You can manage multiple ad spaces in a list. You can view a summary of each space's operating status, ads currently being delivered, and impression count.

Recommended Placements

  • Near the entrance or exit (catches the eye of the most visitors)
  • In front of the register (visible during checkout wait time)
  • Main walkways and end caps (high-traffic areas)
  • Shelf edges related to a product category (areas with strong purchase intent)
