Connecting YouTube

SNS YouTube Google OAuth Account Connection

Connecting ReceiptRoller to a YouTube channel lets you upload videos and manage channel information and comments. YouTube is connected through a Google account.

Before you start

  • Make sure you can sign in to the Google account that owns the YouTube channel
  • If you use a brand account, select the brand account when connecting

Steps to connect

  • From the store menu, open "SNS Management > Accounts"
  • Select "YouTube" from "Connect New Account"
  • On the Google authentication screen, choose the account to connect
  • Grant permission to upload, read, and manage videos

Permissions granted

  • Upload videos
  • View channel and video information
  • Edit and delete video information

About video uploads

Videos posted to YouTube from ReceiptRoller are subject to the following limits.

  • Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WebM
  • Maximum file size: 2 GB (roughly enough for a few minutes of HD 1080p video)
  • Uploads are sent directly from the browser to Azure Blob Storage, so a progress bar reflects your connection speed and uploads can be cancelled midway
  • YouTube's own limits on maximum size, resolution, and file format follow YouTube's policies

To post a longer video that exceeds 2 GB, upload it directly from YouTube Studio.

Token validity period

Access tokens expire after 1 hour, but refresh tokens have no expiration and ReceiptRoller renews them automatically. Re-authentication is only needed if the connection is revoked on the Google account side.
