DPA
Automatically generate a product catalog feed for Meta (Instagram / Facebook) from your PIM product data. Use it to tag products with Instagram Shopping tags or promote them through Dynamic Ads (DPA).
Setup Steps
- Open Commerce Manager in Meta Business Suite.
- Create a "Catalog" and select "Data Feed."
- From the Receipt Roller product feed settings screen, select "Instagram / Facebook" and generate the feed URL.
- Register the generated URL in the Meta Commerce Manager data feed and set an acquisition schedule.
- Link the catalog with your Instagram account and Facebook ad account.
Instagram Shopping Tags
Once the catalog connection is complete, you can add product tags to Instagram posts, stories, and reels.
- Adding a product tag to a post lets followers tap it to go to the product detail / purchase page.
- Products available for tagging are selected from the catalog (limited to Active products in PIM).
- Instagram Shopping requires prior review by Meta (typically 2 to 5 business days).
Using Dynamic Ads (DPA)
Dynamic Ads using your Meta ad catalog automatically display relevant products based on user behavior (site visits, cart additions, etc.).
- Retargeting: Show products again to users who visited the site but didn't purchase
- Cross-sell: Show related products to users who already purchased
- New customer acquisition: Automatically show relevant products to users with similar interests
