How Customers Receive Receipts
This article explains how customers receive a digital receipt. After paying, they simply scan the QR code by the register with their smartphone. Use it as a reference when explaining the process to customers.
What the Customer Does
- After paying, scan the QR code displayed by the register with the smartphone camera
- The page shows the store name and the receipt available to receive, with its receipt number, item count and total
- Choose how to receive it
Ways to Receive
The page is currently shown in Japanese.
- LINEで受け取る (Receive in LINE): The receipt is received in the LINE Mini App. Suited to customers who use LINE
- メールで受け取る (Receive by email): The customer enters an email address and the receipt is sent there. Suited to customers who don't use LINE
The email arrives within a few minutes. If it doesn't, ask the customer to check their spam folder. An invalid address is flagged right away. The same receipt can't be sent repeatedly, and one address can receive up to three receipts an hour.
When to Scan
The QR code by the register gives the receipt most recently issued at that register. After a certain time it can no longer be received and the page shows that there is no receipt yet. Ask customers to scan right after paying.
Receiving It Later
For a customer who wants their receipt some time after paying, you can issue a QR code just for that transaction (a transaction QR) from the store admin. A transaction QR works once. The customer can receive it in LINE or by email, or mark it as received on the page with このレシートを受取済みにする (Mark this receipt as received). Marking it as received doesn't save or send the receipt, so suggest LINE or email to customers who want to keep it.
