ReceiptRoller 1.4.168 Release Notes

In this 1.4.168 release, we're shipping the theme we've been building toward since 1.4.138: letting stores publish their own branded app across four channels at once using a single barcode. This includes the new Store App Platform, issuance of Apple Wallet / Google Wallet membership cards, a self-service submission wizard for native apps, automatic linking between POS-issued receipts and CRM customer data, Markdown support in the Dev Community, and a fix for business hours inconsistencies, among many other updates.

What's new

Launched the new Store App Platform

Stores can now issue their own branded app that runs across four channels — Web, iOS, Android, and the LINE mini app — all at once. Business hours, membership cards, announcements, and campaigns can all be managed from a single shared admin screen (CMS). There's no need to post separately to each channel.

  • Industry-specific templates are now available. We're offering two initial templates — Restaurant and Retail — so you can pick the features you need and publish as-is
  • Added support for per-store custom domains with automatic DNS verification
  • You can now issue a store-specific entry point in the LINE mini app. Customers can open the app directly from a QR code or the official LINE account
  • Streamlined the push notification delivery stack. App notifications, LINE notifications, and email notifications are now managed together, with delivery targeted by segment
  • ReceiptRoller member numbers (barcode membership credentials) are now issued automatically and synced bidirectionally with membership data on the Smaregi / Square side

Issuance of Apple Wallet / Google Wallet membership cards

Stores can now issue their own membership cards through both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Customers can add their membership card straight from their phone's standard wallet app.

  • For each membership tier (Regular, Silver, Gold, etc.), you can edit the card's background color, logo, and text color while previewing the design live
  • Added support for location-based notifications. When a customer arrives at a location, a notification tied to that store can appear on their Wallet card
  • Because member numbers sync with the POS integration, presenting the membership card and POS member lookup now work seamlessly together

Self-service submission wizard for native apps

We've released a self-service submission wizard, run entirely by the store from the admin dashboard, for building iOS/Android native apps and submitting them to the App Store / Google Play. It also handles automatic generation of app assets (icons, screenshots, metadata).

  • Built on a white-label MAUI Blazor Hybrid foundation. A single codebase can be deployed simultaneously to iOS, Android, and Web
  • We've been validating App Store Review Guideline 4.2.6 with pilot stores, and this wizard supports submissions that comply with that guideline
  • Through the App Store Connect integration, you can now track submission status in real time from the admin dashboard (in review, rejected, awaiting release, etc.)

Automatic linking between POS receipts and CRM customer data

We've added a mechanism to automatically link receipts issued from Smaregi or Square with a store's CRM customer data. This lets stores check, receipt by receipt, "when and how much this customer has purchased" directly from the admin dashboard.

  • When a POS transaction includes customer data, the membership code is linked to the receipt on the spot. When that customer returns, their purchase history is available instantly
  • Receipts from paper receipts that a user simply scanned continue to be managed solely on the user's side, going forward. Customer privacy is preserved
  • We also added an index for the store's monthly dashboard, laying the groundwork for fast retrieval of "this month's receipt list"

Fixed and cleaned up business hours inconsistencies

We fixed several reported issues related to registering and saving business hours, and cleaned up the internal processing.

  • Fixed an issue where the save button for business hours wasn't working correctly on the store edit screen
  • Fixed an issue where, when registering multiple shifts (e.g., lunch and dinner) on the same day, they weren't always sorted by start time
  • Consolidated the storage format for business hours data into Store.HoursJson and cleaned up internal processing (this doesn't affect user-facing behavior, and makes future feature additions easier)

Dev Community improvements

We improved usability for the developer community.

  • Questions and answers now support Markdown syntax. Code blocks, links, bullet lists, and other formatting needed for technical Q&A can now be written directly
  • You can now edit or delete answers you've posted

Other fixes and improvements

  • Fixed the store customer API so it returns actual CRM data instead of sample data
  • Added the rw_organization_admin scope to the LinkedIn integration, improving visibility into API error messages
  • Added support for swapping the image gallery and displaying a lightbox on B2B e-commerce product detail pages
  • Added multi-image upload to the product master, and a "view online" link to the product page
  • Refreshed the design and copy on the store-facing landing page (/stores/apps) to align with the Store App Platform introduction

What's next

In upcoming updates, we're working on expanding Store App Platform templates (additional industry-specific templates), extending Wallet pass design features, a visit analytics dashboard powered by the POS receipt / CRM customer data integration, real-time webhook delivery when receipts are issued, direct bridge tables from CRM customers to user accounts, and a full release of the store's monthly dashboard.

Thank you for using ReceiptRoller. If you have feedback or requests, please reach out via "Contact Us" in the store admin dashboard.
