Facing
Product Placement Management lets you create a shelf layout design called a "planogram" and distribute it to individual stores. Using drag and drop, you can build out shelves and determine the optimal facing based on category or sales data.
Registering Shelves
First, register the shelves on your sales floor into the system.
- Enter a shelf name (e.g., "Beverage Shelf A" or "Register Front End Cap")
- Set the number of shelf levels and the width and height of each level
- Link the shelf to a store location (StoreFloor)
Creating a Shelf Layout
- Select the target shelf from "Create Shelf Layout"
- Drag products from PIM to place them on the shelf (product images are displayed automatically)
- Specify the facing count (number of units placed side by side) for each product
- The system automatically checks whether items fit based on product size data (from PIM)
- A warning is displayed if items overflow the shelf
Creating Templates
To roll out the same shelf layout to multiple stores, you can save a layout as a template.
- Create a standard template (e.g., "Winter Beverage Shelf – Standard")
- Create derived templates tailored to a store's size or regional characteristics
- Template version history is preserved, so you can always revert to a past version
Distributing to Stores
- When you publish a shelf layout, a notification is sent to staff at the target store
- Staff carry out the layout work while checking the shelf layout on screen
- Once the layout is complete, it's marked as "Completed"
- Completion rates can be checked at the head office level
Category Placement Rules
You can set placement rules for each category. For example, "Place key products in the golden zone (eye-level height)" or "Place new products on the end cap." If a placement violates a rule, a warning is shown when creating the shelf layout.
