Receiving Answers to Your Questions

ReceiptRoller developer community answer notification

When another developer or the operations team answers a question you posted, a notification is sent to your registered email address. You won't miss a reply to your own question.

Answer notification email

Subject: "You received an answer to your question: {your question title}"

  • The responder's display name (answers from the operations team carry a "Staff" badge)
  • A preview of the answer text (first 300 characters)
  • A link to the question page showing the full text

Checklist if the answer doesn't arrive

  • Check that it wasn't sorted into your spam folder
  • Check your allow-list settings for the sender (the no-reply@ domain)
  • Check on your profile screen that your account's email address is up to date

If it still doesn't arrive, open the question page directly from the community page and check whether an answer is there.

You are not notified about your own question

Even if you add to your own question (for example, supplementary information), no notification email is sent to you. Only answers from other people trigger a notification.

Setting a best answer

When a question receives multiple answers, you can mark the most helpful one as the "best answer."

  • Open the question page and press the "Set as best answer" button shown at the bottom right of the answer
  • Only the question's author and the operations team can set the best answer
  • Once set, that answer is displayed in a prominent position and the question's status changes to "Answered"
  • If a newer answer to the same question comes in later, you can switch the best answer to a different one

How to spot a good answer

  • Answers with a Staff badge: official replies from the ReceiptRoller development team
  • Answers with multiple votes (👍): content judged useful by other developers as well
  • Answers that include reproducible code examples or links to official documentation
