Delete your account (account closure)

When you delete your ReceiptRoller user account, all related personal data is permanently removed. This article explains what to check before deleting, the steps to follow, and exactly what data is deleted.

Data that is deleted

• All digital receipts you have received
• Favorite stores
• Household-budget and income records
• Device registrations for push notifications
• OAuth and SNS integration authorization tokens
• Login information (email, password, and external-login associations)

If you are a business account owner

If you are registered as the owner of a store or business account, you must close that business account first. The user account deletion page shows a list of the business accounts you own as owner, so use the links to complete the closure process for each one.

Steps

1. From the profile menu at the top right of the screen, open "Profile"
2. Find the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the page
3. Click "Delete account"
4. Review the details of the data that will be deleted
5. If you have a password set, enter it to verify your identity (if you use external login only, no password entry is required)
6. Check "I understand the above and agree to permanently delete my account"
7. Click "Permanently delete account"
8. Once deletion is complete, you are logged out and returned to the top page

What happens after deletion

• You can register again with the same email address, but past receipts and data are not carried over.
• The "customer information" attached to receipts you issued in the past is anonymized as a "deleted user" in the store's CRM.
• Posting permissions to any connected SNS accounts are revoked (the SNS accounts themselves are unaffected).
• The mobile app is automatically logged out.

If you want to export your data without deleting

If you want to download your data before closing your account, use the "Download personal data" feature on the profile page. You can obtain your receipt history, favorites, household-budget data, and more in JSON format.
