Leaving a Business Account

leave business account withdraw members
Who this article is for
For anyone who wants to remove their own membership from a business account they belong to. This does not delete your account itself.

How to leave

  1. "Business account" → choose the business account in question
  2. "Leave business account"
  3. "Leave" on the confirmation screen

Your personal account remains. You can still belong to other business accounts.

Cases where you can't leave

Note: If you're the last SuperUser of the business account, you can't leave as-is.

You'll need to do one of the following.

  • Grant the SuperUser role to another member, then leave
  • Delete the business account itself (note: all data under the business account is lost)

How to transfer SuperUser

  1. "Business account" → "Members"
  2. "Edit" on the member you're transferring to
  3. Check the SuperUser role
  4. "Save"
  5. Then remove your own SuperUser role and leave

What happens after leaving

  • You lose access to that business account's store data
  • You disappear from the business account's member list
  • Content you created in the business account (comments, settings-change history, etc.) remains, but your display name becomes "Former member"
  • Your payment responsibility ends (billing after you leave continues against the business account)

Rejoining

You can rejoin if you're invited to the same business account again. The roles and permissions you had when you left aren't restored (they're re-granted at invitation time).
